Reframed co-founder Jo York took home a big, heavy shiny this weekend when Reframed.TV was crowned ‘Best New Business’ on Saturday 15th November.
Jo was one of eleven winners at the 15th Annual North East Women Entreprenuers Awards, which celebrated the achievements of the region’s top female business leaders at the Hilton in Gateshead.
Jo said: “We weren’t expecting to win so I was surprised – and delighted – when they called my name. It was one of the first awards to be announced so it was great to celebrate the accolade with my co-founder Kev for the rest of the night, which was a great showcase for the thriving North East business community.”
The award was sponsored by North East Chamber of Commerce and presented by Director of Policy Ross Smith.
With a record number of entries this time round, judges were looking for candidates who excelled at providing focused and clear leadership abilities while either running or playing key roles in North East businesses.
Event organiser Nickie Gott, who chairs the North East Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Advisory Board, WIN Ltd, and is the founder of events management company She’s Gott It!, said: “I’d like to congratulate all the winners who made judging this year’s event so difficult. It is a cliché to say it gets harder every year, but the calibre of entries this year was phenomenal.”
